CENTER FOR ENERGY AND COMPUTER EDUCATION EXCELLENCE
Center For Energy & Computer Education Excellence (CECEE) is a community based technology learning center whose focus is on reinforcing the comprehension of STEM subject matter via after school programming.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. These disciplines are the pillars to providing the necessary keys for successful careers that will unlock the technological challenges we face in the 21st century.

Recent studies have revealed some of the following facts:
1. Science literacy is critical for all Americans young and old, scientist or non-scientist.
2. U.S. global economic leadership and competitiveness are intrinsically linked to a robust science and technology innovation pipeline and workforce.
3. America’s future STEM leadership is dependent on the country’s ability to recruit and retain more women, African-Americans, Hispanics, and American Indians (underrepresented minorities) in STEM fields.
4. Science interest and ability are color-blind and gender-neutral: from an early age, boys and girls of all races, and ethnic backgrounds are interested in science.
Center For Energy & Computer Education Excellence (CECEE) will begin to address closing the gap of underrepresented minorities in the STEM fields by offering customized and individualized programming to youth & young adults in at a centrally located community technology learning center in Allegheny County (Pennsylvania).
CECEE is initially focused on grades 5 thru 8 via after school programming which will be available to participants in the following tracks:
- Math Tutoring
- Computer Education Track
- Energy Education Track
Programming will be delivered by qualified staff instructors, student interns from local universities and volunteers.
